New awards present opportunities for
international business growth

As the entry deadline for the New Zealand International Business Awards approaches, Business NZ says they will provide timely learning opportunities, as well as a valuable prize for the winner.

The awards, promoted by NZ Trade and Enterprise, assisted by Business NZ, recognize success stories of New Zealand businesses operating in the international market and bringing vital dollars back to the New Zealand economy. They will help support their continued growth, and the growth of other New Zealand businesses trying to forge ahead in a challenging global marketplace.

A reward of $100,000 to invest in furthering international growth will be awarded to the Supreme Award winner, who stands out across the award categories of:
• Best business (small, medium and large) operating internationally
• Most innovative international business model
• Best use of design in international business
• Best commercialization of intellectual property in international business
• Best use of research and development in international business.

The awards will also recognize an emerging and outstanding international business leader who has made a significant contribution to business internationalization.

“The awards present a valuable learning and networking opportunity for all entrants. If your business is operating successfully internationally, exporting products and services, and investing in business growth in international markets, I urge you to enter,” said Business NZ Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly.

Entries close on 14 April and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony dinner on 30 September 2009. You can find out more and enter the awards at www.nzte.govt.nz/awards.
